Resources for National Mentoring Month

Mentoring resources

It’s National Mentoring Month, and – as someone who has benefited from my experiences as both a mentor and mentee – I’d like to share some resources I’ve recently found on the topic:

From Pursuit Magazine, Flying Lessons: What Pilots Know about Mentorship is geared toward private investigators, but the lessons apply to everyone.

3 Steps to Begin and Maintain a Beautiful Mentorship covers finding a mentor, growing and maintaining the relationship, and helping the mentor. I especially like the tip about paying it forward.

And, since this is a topic near and dear to my heart, Million Women Mentors supports mentors (male and female) who help “increase the interest and confidence of girls and women to persist and succeed in STEM programs and careers.”

Consider supporting others through mentorship. You’ll be surprised how much you will learn. And if you’ve been mentored, be sure to thank your mentor – and pay it forward.
